Site-specific performance “Black Staircase. The Sum of Movements“, 2019

“Black staircase. The sum of movements” is a site-specific research of the black staircase in the Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovich’s Palace. The palace has a rich history, but now the premises on the side of the staircase are rented out to private companies, the interior itself is in need of repairs. In their collaboration the artists are mostly interested in the architecture of the place. Despite feeling lost, they look for the ways of measuring the space and recording information. They come up with a method of measuring the space with the bodies and converting the resulting data into charts.
